Job Description
PRESIDENT

 
 
Job Summary:
The position is responsible for leading and directing  the efforts  of staff and volunteer  members to develop and advocate resources for the trucking industry.
 

ORGANIZATIONAL STATUS:
Reports directly to the Board of Directors.
 
As  the   most  senior  staff   position   within   PMTA,  the   President  is responsible for the overall strategic leadership of the organization to ensure its future  relevance, credibility, and viability.    Also, the President  is responsible for establishing PMTA's objectives and priorities  and for reviewing  and evaluating the progress and work of the staff for completion of objectives and performance goals.
 
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
To   assure   the    best   results,  the President actively facilitates collaboration and partnerships  by involving  members and by personally promoting participation, membership, volunteerism, and philanthropy, with PAC, Chapters, and other outside organizations.

INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Works   directly  with the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee to develop organizational policies  in  support  of  PMTA's mission.  As the leader of the senior management  team, the President guides the development of strategic and operational plans for management.
 
EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS:
The President works directly with  PMTA's lobbyists in developing  plans to advocate the importance of the industry and its issues, to government agencies, regulators, the administration and the legislature in conjunction with the board. The President  also will work  with  leaders of other organizations with  similar  interests, such as the  Chambers  of  Commerce, highway builders, safety organizations, State Police, FMCSA, and others.
  
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides PMTA with the  vision and leadership  to  carry out the Board's policies.
• Maintains staff and members focus on its mission,
•  Seeks out opportunities to  improve  PMTA's operations  and recognize opportunities for shifts in organizational changes.
• Develops  and  oversees  policy  and  strategies  for  financial management  including  all revenues, expenses and  investments.
