The March Legislative Tracking Report is here.

With the Primary Election in just 2 months, the remaining Session days are speeding by quickly. There are only 30 Session days scheduled before June 30th (the budgets constitutional deadline) – 10 Session days before the primary election and 20 Session days after.  Once the budget is passed the General Assembly will recess for the summer, returning minimally in the fall.  All of the remaining Session days will be action packed and hectic.  We will continue to monitor all legislation very closely and will be sure to be in touch if there are any changes in the status of your bills.

Corbett Administration Announces $8 Million in Alternative Fuel Vehicle Incentive Grants

Governor Tom Corbett and the Department of Environmental Protection announced that its Alternative Fuels Incentive Grant program will open March 1, providing an estimated $8 million in grants for the purchase or conversion of alternative fuel vehicles.

Those eligible to apply include school districts, municipal authorities, political subdivisions, incorporated nonprofit entities, corporations and limited liability companies or partnerships registered to do business in Pennsylvania.

Grant funds are available for the conversion or purchase of natural gas vehicles weighing 26,000 pounds or less, as well as the conversion or purchase of electric, propane or other alternative fuel vehicles of any size. Applicants interested in purchasing or converting only one or two alternative fuel vehicles are encouraged to partner with other eligible applicants to aggregate vehicles into a single application, which will satisfy the grant's five vehicle minimum.

Grant applications will also be accepted for innovation technology projects that include research, training, development and demonstration of new applications or next phase technology related to alternative transportation fuels and alternative fuel vehicles.

Applications are due May 30, 2014, by 4 p.m. Grants will be awarded in the fall.
