The CDL Class A or B Driver safely and efficiently delivers, loads, and unloads product and material, assists the AV Installation Technicians with AV installation projects, and performs general warehouse duties.

Essential Functions

• Operates a Class A or B-licensed truck according to applicable state and federal transportation laws

• Loads and unloads truck in a manner that prevents breakage

• Transports loads safely and in a timely manner irrespective of the time of day or weather conditions, obeys all traffic laws and observes all safety regulations

• Deftly maneuvers truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas; able to comfortably drive in and maneuver around inner-cities, such as New York City and Baltimore, and through residential neighborhoods

• Assists with or loads and unloads goods and materials, using specialized equipment when warranted; unloads empty skids and returns all equipment to designated area

• Maintains signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork; delivers documentation to appropriate staff when delivery is complete

• Ensures that the truck always has sufficient fuel and completing pre- and post-trip safety and maintenance checks

• Facilitates routine service on trucks, which may include checking oil, water, gasoline, and air, reports maintenance malfunctions to the appropriate person

• Arranges trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns

•Maintains all required logs

•Assists AV Installation Technicians with AV installation projects

• Performs general warehouse duties, including loading and unloading product, re-box product and prepare for shipment, unbox and inventory product

• Provides weekly expense report


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is an hourly overtime-eligible position. The work schedule is at least 40 hours per week with variable starting and ending times. Most work weeks will be Monday through Friday with weekends off. Some overtime is possible with management approval.

Travel

Travel is primarily throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, but may include trips to New England, the South, and the Midwest regions. Some trips will include overnight stays of three-to-four consecutive nights with an occasional overnight Sunday.

This position reports to the Project Manager, AV Services.

We seek applicants with training in diesel technology at the high school or technical school level OR documented work experience repairing heavy/medium duty trucks or heavy equipment. Exact starting wage will be determined by amount of education, certifications, and work experience.

Primary responsibilities:
• Accurately diagnose vehicle problems based on customer complaints and inspection
• Document work in progress on computer system
• Perform repairs according to dealership standards and factory specs
• Road test vehicle, if necessary.

Qualifications:
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to work independently with limited supervision
• PACCAR, Cummins, CAT & ASE certifications a plus but not required
• Valid State Inspection License a plus but not required
• Valid CDL License preferred but not required
